Aldersgate Welcomes Nick Evans
as
Senior Pastor

As you probably
have heard by now, Dave has been given a new appointment in the
Louisiana United Methodist Conference, beginning in June. Aldersgate
has also received a new appointment for our Senior Pastor-Rev. T.
Nichols Evans. Nick has recently served Munholland United Methodist
Church in Metairie. He has been serving in the Louisiana Conference
since 1990 and was serving in Arkansas and Texas since 1969. He has
held a number of denominational offices during his career, such as,
Chair of Board of Global Ministries (Little Rock Annual Conference),
Area World Hunger Task Force, Conference Missional Priority Design
Team and more. He has been a member of the Board of Worship, the
Board of Ordained Ministry and currently sits on the Conference
board of Trustees, Board of Louisiana United Methodist Foundation
and the Conference Church Extension Team. Nick has also been
involved in community activities such as the Pinebluff Center for
Women in Crisis; Greater New Orleans Council of Boy Scouts of
America; Greater New Orleans Habitat for Humanity Advisory Board; an
Eagle Scout with 31 years of service as an adult scout leader; and
has served as Spiritual Director for Kairos and Cursillo. Nick has
three children: Hammett, who is currently a United Methodist pastor
serving in the British Methodist connection in Watton, England and
will become an associate pastor of the First United Methodist Church
in Bryant, Arkansas in July; Brice is a band director in West
Memphis, Arkansas; and Eleanor is a freelance writer who will be
living with Nick in Slidell. Nick's first Sunday here will be on
June 15, 2003. Please mark your calendars and plan to join us in
